Methodology
Data Sources
The site is generated from public regulatory disclosures and public reference pages. It is a research directory, not a recommendation list.
SEC Form ADV Part 1
Core fund profiles come from SEC/IAPD Form ADV Part 1 private-fund filing data for January through April 2026. Rows classified as "Hedge Fund" are deduplicated by SEC private fund ID.
IAPD adviser records
Manager pages link to public IAPD firm profiles where a CRD identifier is present. The importer also uses adviser fields from each ADV filing, including office location, SEC number, services, and regulatory assets.
Public notable-firm references
The homepage includes a small notable-firm enrichment from Wikipedia's hedge fund list. Regulatory records remain the authoritative source for generated fund and manager/adviser pages.
Important caveats
What the data can and cannot prove
Form ADV private-fund records are self-reported regulatory disclosures. The directory treats a fund as active when it appears in current-year ADV filing data and has not been filtered out by deduplication, but a public filing does not independently verify current fundraising status, performance, investor eligibility, or availability.
Strategy pages are heuristic. SEC private-fund rows identify fund type, but they do not provide a clean universal strategy taxonomy, so strategy tags are inferred from fund and manager names.
